  • No, it is against policy.  Frankly, I am glad!
  • No, just cookies that I pass around to everyone else as well.

  • I do but he and I have a great relationship and spend a lot of time together out of the office. I got him a book about the philosophy and psychology behind the Dexter series because we are both watching it right now. I'm also getting him a new gel seat for his road bike and new ear buds.

Last year I combined with the other office staff and we got him an ipod.

Before I worked here, I would usually just do baked goods, soy candles, desk plants, etc.

  • At my last job we all went in on a bottle of good liquor for our boss.  It was a really small office (only 6 people total).

  • I've always gotten my boss a gift, since I am his assistant.  In the past, I've given him a nice bottle or two of wine with some other goodies (chocolates, nuts, snacks, etc.).  And last year I got him gift certificates to a local coffee place since he gets coffee there almost every morning on his way into work.

  • I've gotten him a few little things...his birthday is christmas eve, and I don't really do christmas presents...I do plan to do something for his birthday though.  Need ideas.
  • yes - I've gone in with her other direct report and usually get her a GC to a bead shop (she makes her own jewelry) one year got her a coach key chain/fob that she wanted.  this year I have a new boss and she loves wine so either a nice bottle or a poinsetta.

  • I just give something homemade like I give to co-workers. It'll be cookies, caramel popcorn, almond toffee or something like that.

  • No.  I'm not about to start that.  He doesn't get me anything either and I think we are both much happier that way.  I do give him a box of cookies for he and his wife (I also give a box to our assistant and another CW) and he gives us some of the fudge she makes.  That's about it.
