compost tumblers

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on a tumbler that is affordable.....  I am looking for one that I can keep covered so animals can't get into it.

 thanks!

  • Here is a link to an easy tumbler that you can build:

I used a oversized garbage can instead of a barrell, and it works great! Only different I did was put bungee cords to make sure the lid doesn't pop off when I'm rotating.

I found this because I was looking for something cheap as well - and they are just not out there!

  • My neighbor actually gave me hers that she didn't want anymore.  I have no idea what brand it is since it is used.  That said, if I hadn't been gifted one, I was planning on doing the garbage can method the pp linked to.  There are other 'open' options for composting like building a box with chicken wire or some other metal fencing material, however we have way too much wildlife around here for that.
