group gift help for 4 kids!

We are on a crazy budget this year and I need to come up with a fun idea for my nephews and niece. They pretty much have everything under the sun, so I want to do some sort of themed gift that they wouldn't expect. They live 2,000 miles away so it needs to be shipped, which makes it a little harder! Last year I did an ice cream sundae bar gift, with sprinkles, personalized cups, fun spoons and toppings. They loved it, but now i have no idea what to do for this year, and I need to think of something quick as time is running out! Their ages range from 6 to 11. Any suggestions are very much appreciated!!!

  • Do they belong to their local zoo, natural history museum etc?  A membership to one of them would give them 'fun' all year long.  We're zoo/museum people though, I realize some folks just aren't.

  • what about board games like Apples to Apples or something like that?

  • I just thought of another thing...this might be hard due to age range, but what about a 'movie' night.  You can get a DVD for them to watch and then popcorn (you can include a big cute bowl or bowls for everyone), candy, fleece throws for everyone to cuddle up in etc  You can make it 'family fun night' by adding a board game.

I like this. What about Cup Stacking?

Magazine subscriptions or memberships to a local kids museum are also awesome..

ETA: I just read your OP more closely, and I realized you were looking for a themed gift.

Breakfast kit: bowls, spoons, pancake mix, fun placemats

If they live in a snowy area, what about a snowman-making kit?

Reading basket: bookmarks, small personal reading lights, gift cards to a book store

I got my 10yo SIL a tie-die kit so she can design her own shirts.

I also really like the movie night idea.

  • Hi!  Loved reading the PP suggestions, esp.the  Movie Night, Breakfast Club and Snowman Kits and wanted to let you know that if you open a Target Credit Card they have free shipping on their website and 5% off...  which makes shipping gifts more reasonable. :)

    Good Luck and Happy Holidays!
