xp: Help! Anyone made the white chocolate cherry shortbread cookies from Pinterest?
I saw these all over Pinterest (from bhg.com) and they looked great. But
butter is the only thing close to liquid in it. You're supposed to
knead them to form a ball of dough, but all I get is powder. Any idea
what I can do? Should I add an egg? It needs liquid somehow. I did let
it sit for a while I did something else. Maybe the butter go too warm?
What should I do?
My favorite place on earth: The Amargosa Valley.

OK I get it now. I don't see anything in there except the butter, shortening and tiny bit of moisture from the almond extract that would help keep the dry ingredients together... Yet there are some great reviews of the cookies. I read a few of them and a couple of people did add some liquid from the cherries, so try that (I don't think it would be terrible). It does sound like this is a shortbread-like cookie, so it's probably meant to be pretty dry. Hope it works out!

You know, I've seen a lot of recipes on Pinterest that get repinned again and again. I think with some of those, people don't actually open up the recipe and read the reviews (I have on a few occasions, and they weren't great) or make them before repinning. Sorry it didn't work out I guess you know for next time.
i find that to be the case a lot. there's a lot of "ooo, that's pretty!" and not a lot of follow through beyond that.
