Gift ideas for 8 year old girls?
DH's has twin cousins and I'm at a loss as to what to buy them for Christmas. Any ideas? What's popular amongst 8 year old girls this year?
Re: Gift ideas for 8 year old girls?
Two of the girl cousins we buy for are 8 this year. This year I'm doing books- age appropriate, girly chapter books. Last year I did pj's and matching robes for all the girl cousins- ages 7-10 at the time- and they were a huge hit. In the past I've done board games and lip glosses, nail polishes, hair accessories which all went over well.
my 9yo niece LOVES anything from justice.
also, she really likes vera bradley right now.
last year, i bought her the ramona series and she really liked it as well.
DD just turned 7 so I may not be much help, but was going to suggest some of the things that CB did: chapter books (Magic Treehouse, Junie B Jones, Skippy Jon Jones, and some kind of Pony series the name of which I don't recall), board games, nail polish, and various accessories.
Other items on my list for DD that I either know she wants or think she'd like: a Bop It game, some kind of 18" doll (i.e. American Girl, My Generation, etc), one of those doll heads used to style hair and makeup, a fun hula hoop, accessories for her bike, a kids karaoke machine, Heelys (she got these for her birthday and looovves them), mixed CD of her favorite music, and any number of arts and crafts kits such as those to make friendship bracelets, pot holders, fun chandeliers, Majic Fabric, etc. Oh! How about one of those Fashion Design sets where they can mix/match the tops and bottoms and color them, etc.?? I remember those when I was a kid and know there are a few versions available now. DD also loves anything with her name on it like an embroidered bag, pillowcase, jacket, etc.
HTH!
Ditto what everyone else said. Also, Justin Bieber is the big thing with most of DD's friends ... She hasn't reached that obsession yet, thank goodness
Pet shops, squinkies, Toms, 18" dolls, any kind of jewelry. Mood rings, crafts.
There are some jewelry boxes they can decorate themselves, that might be a good idea.
Games like Trouble, Guess Who, Connect 4, UNO and Sorry.

This is what I got my niece this year. She'll be 8 in June. I'm getting her initials monogrammed onto the robe, and I also got her a couple of books to read before bed. (They are about slumber parties.)
I'm the weird aunt that finds a book to go with every gift. This year I got my nephew a Stomp Rocket, so I had to find a book about rocket ships to go with it.
