sorry elenetxu - I feel bad posting this after your post!

The front (that's the 3 car garage off on the right - facing another street)

the back yard - we're getting rid of that ugly gazebo & they put up a black pool fence, and we're going to reduce that paving so there's more grass. It's a good sized yard though (you can't see all of it in this pic - we even have an orange tree!). Is it sad that I am SO excited to have a hills hoist? (to dry clothes in the sun)

The kitchen - dated for sure. But I am SO excited to have tile (dd throws food all over our carpet right now which is fun). And it's SO SO big compared to our apartment. And it has what I REALLY wanted - which is windows that face the yard so I can keep an eye on dd while I cook.
I won't post any boring bathroom photos, and the living room pics are blah. But basically 1 bathroom downstairs - kind of a 'pool' bathroom. 1 formal living room & a 'rumpus' room & a dining room & a huge study. Upstairs - 5 bedrooms, master is ensuite & there's another bathroom for the rest of the rooms - both which were recently renovated.
SO - ya know, it's old. But it has the SPACE we want, and we figure over the years we'll do things like open up the living spaces & redo the kitchen, etc. Our first priority will be to build some sort of cover over the outdoor space, as summer is coming & I'm sure we'll want to spend a lot of time outside (and not sitting that frickin gazebo - that's for sure lol!).
We move in next week - I cannot WAIT!!!! especially after it took me 2 hours to get to work today. Should take less than half an hour from the new place - hooray!
Of course, because its Sydney, we have a gigantic mortgage. But I think we'll be really happy there - any still only half an hour drive from the beach - not too bad!

Re: AW Pics of our new house - as requested :)
thanks Kahl - we're moving out towards 'the hills' in west sydney, just 20 min west of the CBD on the M2
gblake - yes for sure!! he arrived last Saturday, and has been helping us pack stuff up & will assist the movers on the day - a GREAT help
Looks relay nice and sounds like it's in a better location for you all.
I think the kitchen looks nice even if it's a bit dated. For me it's the flooring that's making it look dated. Besides the cabinets look really nice besides the out dated stained glass it looks great! Love the curb appeal at the front.

I know in the US it would not be to difficult or overly expensive to have the glass replaced. I'm sure it costs a lot more in Sydney but it would definitely change the dated look of the cabinets.
I think G is going to love having all that space!

ohhhh I never thought of that - I just figure we'd have to wait til we redid the kitchen - good idea!! the panels on either side of our front door are that same ugly brown & yellos 80s stained glass - I will definitely look into that - thank you!!
I know what your talking about with the yellow and brown glass font door. My parent's house had that. What were people thinking in teh 80s!

Congratulations on the new place! The space looks amazing, and I honestly didn't think the kitchen looked too bad! The cabinets are definitely easy to work with, and the tile floor can be fixed at some point. As long as it has good bones, you're set!
SO jealous of the pool, fyi.
*jealous grumbles*
Lucky duck! Enjoy the space, looks lovely!

I vote that we have a huge IN party in your house. Elenetxu can buy the plane tickets for us after she wins the national Christmas lottery this year.
