pediatrician recs in Arvada/Wheat Ridge
My Dr just got onto me about not having this figured out yet... I guess I should get on it! TIA!
Re: pediatrician recs in Arvada/Wheat Ridge
another vote for Pediatrics West. Our MD is just okay - she's good but nothing spectacular. love her PA though. I've heard and had great experiences with Dr. Fudge-Erickson.
and we didn't have a pediatrician picked out until DS was born. and we never interviewed them.
Thanks! I will look into Pediatrics West and the recommended doctors.
my read shelf:
DS 09/08
We have used Arvada peds, pediatrics west, and Indian crest pediatrics (actually westminster wads and 92nd.)
**This our experience and I know others have different opions but I will share our point of view.
I will never bring any child of mine back to Arvada peds. We went there for almost a year and a half and in that time we had a lot of problems. They put some serious fear in us because DD wasn't gaining weight. I had 3 Dr's refuse to believe my 9 month old could have a sinus infection (they wouldn't even look in her nose, it got to the point where I was screaming in tears for someone to look in there. finally because I was making a scene a PA looked and found a sinus infection she had for almost 3 months. She continued to get them and they kept shoving antibiotics at us and actually tried to discourage me from taking her to an ENT. We went behind their backs to an ENT and she needed surgery. After surgery she needed to follow up with her pedi and the Dr. actually sat there and told us he had wanted to send her to an ENT since day one but we were not coporative. She now has speech delays that they insisted she was up to a normal level everytime I brought it up. She developed a curved foot at about 10 months and they told us to leave it alone and it would correct by 18 months. We are now learning she will probably need surgery but wouldn't have if it were corrected a year ago. I have recently learned they have a malpractice lawsuit going against them for similar issues.
Pediatrics west- We saw Dr. Nagal he was really kind, took the time to explain things to us and very helpful. What made us choose another pedi was their lack of HIPPA compliance-they have patient charts sitting on the front counter, then later left a message about my daughter on a public line at DH's work. I really liked the Dr. but I didn't like this part.
Indian crest- so far we see Dr. Shah and it is going well. She is the first Dr. that really made us feel in control of our daughter's healthcare. She explains every option and spends a great deal of time with you. She has been stuck cleaning up the mess our old pedi left and her office has been helping us make the best choices. They have kept track of specialist appointments and followed up with us and the other Dr's over the phone afterward. So far I really like them.
No more baby siggie pics. Boo.
We see Dr. Fudge-Erickson and her PA, Tracy. Love them both!
We also used to see Dr. Knott and loved him, also saw Dr. Barbe there once as well and he was good as well (this was just for routine check ups). Then we had her back in Kaiser (my insurance), now back on dh's insurance so back to Indian Crest we go!
eta: weird, right after I posted this Indian Crest called me to remind me of dd's appointment Monday!
