Invitation Wording

DH and I are planning his bff's honey-do shower. It will be a couples shower. Any cute and fun ideas for the wording on the invitation.

FYI: I know some don't know what this is, so a honey-do shower is basically a shower for the groom. Similar to a bridal, he registers at Lowe's or Home Depot.

Thanks!

Re: Invitation Wording

  • I'm no help because I've never heard of this ...

Out of curiosity, do they still register for household items (pots/pans/dishes/etc at BBB or wherever) or is this INSTEAD of all that?

You haven't heard of a tool shower or a lawn & garden shower?  Same thing, it just goes by another name in OP's town.  The couple still registers for all the common things, they just register at one extra store.

I guess maybe in some parts of the country there's only one bridal shower?  Here because sometimes you're inviting literally the entire town, you'll have 5 or 6 showers so that everyone has a chance to go to one and all the family friends who want to host get a chance.

Our friend who married a minister's daughter had 7 different showers bc so many people wanted to throw her a shower [and by extension, thank her parents for their service to the community].  We got invited to the lawn & garden one since we were friends of the groom.

  • Thanks for the info -- We had 4 showers but just received gifts off of our BBB & Target registries. However, we did register for some camping stuff at Target. We didn't receive any of it but the tent, though. It just must not be common in my circle of family/friends.

  • Sorry I'm of no help b/c this is the first I've ever heard of it.  I just wanted to say that I think that this is a really awesome idea!  Registering was really hard for us because I felt like I was picking out stuff for me.  We had a couples shower, but again I felt like it was all about me and not DH.  I hope this starts becoming a norm!!

  • I have never heard of a honey-do shower. Cute name. i did go to a couples shower where they said the couple could use HD and Lowes gift cards, so it was similar but without the catchy name. We did not register for anything as we are older and combined 2 households. I was never married before but have acquired a lot of my mom's stuff as she is older and no longer uses it.

  • I am not good a wording but maybe a poen that is about tools and home improvement or plays on those words. I like the name honey-do for a party theme. Maybe some way to do a take off on the show home improvement, or one of the other home type shows.
