Who has the best shipping rates?
I finished shopping for my nieces and nephews and am hoping to get everything packed and wrapped this weekend. Last year I went to USPS to ship and the cost to ship hurt. I've never really looked at pricing for UPS or FedEx (other than my company has awesome FedEx rates that I wish I could apply to personal shipments).
Any thoughts? Last year was close to $75 in shipping, and I didn't buy smaller/lighter gifts this year (yes, I know, that's a big part of my problem).

Re: Who has the best shipping rates?
From what I understand, UPS and FEDEX determine their rates depending on where you live. Like for me, it is SUPER DUPER expensive for me to ship UPS of FEDEX because I live in a rural area. A box that would normally cost me $4.50 at the Post Office will cost me around $18.00 at the other parcel delivery companies.
I learned the hard way when I sold a few things last year on e-bay

I would use UPS, FedEx, DHL and USPS's online shipping calculators to see how much it will run you.
I find that UPS has better ground shipping rates, but FedEx has better customer service and is more reliable. You can also see if your company has a preferred vendor through whom they receive a discount. Some companies will extend that same discount to individuals.
I would like to know the best rates also! I need to send stuff to Alaska, that will be light, and I might buy online and just send it there. But, my sister-in-law moved to Indiana, so getting the gifts to her 3 kids is not so easy!
