Moving to Boston!

A few weeks ago I posted asking for relocation suggestions as DH was interviewing for a job in Needham. We're currently in Florida. I'm happy to say that he got the job! He starts the 2nd week of January. Thanks everyone for your suggestions -- it's been SO helpful as we search for a place to live!

I still need to find a job up there, so if anyone knows of someone hiring in the internet marketing field, I'd love to hear about it. Also, we'll need a daycare for my daughter, preferably a center (just our personal preference), so if anyone has recommendations on that, let me know! (If you don't want to post it publicly, a PM works too!)

Thanks again everyone -- we're really looking forward to the move!

Re: Moving to Boston!

  • I don't have any recommendations for you, unfortunately, but good luck with the move!
  • Congrats and good luck with the move!

I don't have kids so no suggestions, unfortunately, but it might help to know what area you're looking to live in and whether you're looking for a center closer to work or home.

Looking forward to having you on the board--we're a small but fun group.

I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

  • Thanks! Right now we're looking at a townhome in Roslindale, but we're also considering Natick, Framingham, and Newton as potential places to love. I've already contacted Bright Horizons for daycare, but I like to have options :) I prefer having a center closer to work in case I have to work late, but close to home works too.

I look forward to getting to know you ladies too!

  • Welcome! Roslindale might be a bit of a hike to Needham. Natick and Newton are highly sought after. If you can afford it, I say go for it. The schools there are great.

I don't have kids, so I have no idea about day care, but I work right near a Bright Horizons and the kids always look happy.
