Pregnancy Brain Strikes Again

So I log on to pay my monthly Denver water bill.   It's $71, which is more than twice what it should be for this time of year.  Then I noticed it says my account is past due and that they did not receive November payment.  So I pull out my November invoice, which shows I paid it on November 4th and have the payment confirmation number written down.  So I go to my online banking and notice that the amount had not been deducted from my account last month.

I proceed to call Denver Water to tell them I definitely paid it online on the 4th, have a confirmation number, but that the amount was never deducted.  The rep tells me that the confirmation number doesn't match up but I proceed to tell her I am certain I paid it on the 4th.  She says that she shows that same amount being paid in November 2010 - which also matches the same confirmation number.  So I look at the invoice and yep - it's from 2010.  So I apparently looked at the invoice from 2010, thought it was from 2011 and that I had already paid it.  Although I still swear I paid it last month.  Thank God they didn't shut off our water!

Had I known I'd be this forgetful, I'd have set up automatic bill pay before getting pregnant as this isn't the first time I've forgotten to pay something online.  Gah!

Re: Pregnancy Brain Strikes Again

  • When pregnant with lucy I booked airline tickets and the we showed up to the airport a day early.  With Lexi I booked airline tickets for the morning, except turns out they were really for the evening. Luckily we figured it out 2days before leaving and only because of the previous incident...  I didn't book any travel when pregnant with Max thankfully.  Pregnancy brain is awful!

  • Oh man!! I'm sorry! I'm right there with you. Last weekend DH, DS and I trekked over to the hospital for our last ultrasound and we get there and the receptionist looks at me and says do you have an appt? I said yes we do here's my form. We sit down and they take me back to registration. The tech says, "It's a good thing we're not busy at all today, and I didn't want to bust your chops in front of your husband, but you're appt isn't until next Saturday."

    Pregnant brain at its best.
