Spreadsheets on a Mac

I know virtually nothing about macs, but DH and I are wondering if we would want to switch.

We are heavy excel spreadsheet users.

1) Is there an excellent spreadsheet program for mac?  The spreadsheet program would have to have pivot tables, goal seek and other advance functions for us to even consider giving up PCs.

2) Can mac open spreadsheets created in excel, and vice versa?

Thanks!

Re: Spreadsheets on a Mac

  • 1) Yes. It is called Excel.

    2) See answer #1

  • Yes, you can get Microsoft Office for Mac. It's a bit different from the Windows version, so it takes some getting used to, but it's just as functional.

Thanks! I didn't know you can get Office for Mac (obviously) but that resolves many of my concerns. Thanks for the info.
