2nd time mamas... a question
It looks like I'm definitely headed for a repeat c-section, since DD's firmly breech (might change), and I'm not a great VBAC candidate. I've made my peace with all that, but I am wondering... they said they won't schedule a date until we are definitely 39 weeks. That makes sense, and I totally get it for baby's development etc.
But, as a 2nd time mom - am I likely to go into labor before 39 weeks? Did you? I can't find any great info on this. I'm just trying to figure out if I'm bound for some sort of scurry out of the house in the middle of the night type of event, or if we'll likely make it to the scheduled date.
Thanks!

Mama's Gonna Buy You A Mockingbird
I think most likely you will be fine, unless you had preterm labor with DS or any other reason to suspect early delivery.
Also do you mean they won't set the date before you reach 39 weeks, or they won't schedule the actual surgery to take place before 39 weeks? My OB said if we did a repeat C/S she would schedule it around 36 weeks and it would take place at 39 weeks, maybe that is the same as what you are saying!
Also I am glad you have made your peace. I know it is not an easy decision to make and it sounds like DD is making the decision a little easier by making it for you!
We'll schedule it at my next appointment (34 weeks) for 39 weeks. But the NP said the hospital won't allow it to be scheduled (unless there's an urgent reason) until you are literally 7 days before your calculated EDD, so no wiggle room there. Sigh.
Okay, that is good to know. I have never heard of that policy!
And how are you so far along already?!
I have no idea - we don't even have a crib yet!
