Activities to do with 2 and 5 year olds?

DH goes back to work on the 20th.  Also known as the start of winter break...  I will be in desperate need of activities to fill the time with the girls for those two weeks before school is back in session.  So I need some ideas.  At least the second week should be ruled by Christmas presents, but still.  And baking is out cause we are doing our annual baking day with my cousins on the 18th.

  • We'll be up for doing something with you. L is off school too and I'll need to find some things to keep us busy or we'll go insane.I had planned on doing the library, swimming, the play area at Paul Derda or LMB and maybe one of the museums. I just have a feeling most of the places we'll want to go are going to be insanely busy with everyone being off vacation. =(
  • What about the Elvis theathers?  Good and cheap and easy on you. Or do a movie afternoon at home with popcorn.

We'll do the pool at the rec center too, although that may be a bit harder on you.  What about the butterfly pavilions?

Make a fort out of blankets and chairs.  Have a picnic lunch in it.  My boys love to do this and it keeps them occupied for longer.

And if you get desperate- let them open one new toy each.

We'll definitely be up for doing things with you guys with the exception of swimming, can't manage that one yet.  Lexi gave up her nap so I'm afraid the days seem longer and I can't be out of the house all day every day and I'm afraid we'll all go crazy unless I come up with some things to entertain them at home too.  Maternity leave is so much better when it is nic outside!

  • There is always a lot of fun to be had at the Littleton Historical Museum, indoors and out. Best of all, it is rarely crowded and free!

  • Oh, and going and seeing the lights at the City County Building can be a big hit, then go say "Hi" to the big blue bear at the convention center.
