I ordered DD a Snoopy Sno Cone Machine before Thanksgiving from Hearthsong. I got a confirmation e-mail although I didn't look that closely at it at the time. FF to after Thanksgiving when all of my packages start arriving except that one. So I dig out the confirmation e-mail and notice in small letters it says "Available 12/5". So I was mildly annoyed because there was nothing on their site indicating that it was back-ordered and I never got an official notice saying that, it was just on the confirmation in tiny letters. Ok, fine. If it's available on the 5th to ship that is still plenty of time to ship for Christmas. I've only received that one confirmation e-mail from them, plus several e-mails offering free shipping if I spend so much money, blah, blah, blah. Today it occurred to me that I've never seen a shipping e-mail, so I call their customer service to check and see what is going on.
The customer service rep looks up my order and chuckles oddly. Then there is a huge pause and she says "Well, I regret to inform you, but that item has been discontinued" WTH?!! So apparently they were never going to contact me with this news...I was just going to keep waiting and waiting for my package to show. I mean it's not even like it's back-ordered, they aren't EVER going to get this product again, yet failed to contact me despite sending me a confirmation e-mail. SO annoying!!!
