Good morning!

I'll see you on the other side, ladies. We're off to Frankfurt in about 45 minutes.

QTOD: Do you and your SO have any Advent Sunday traditions? If so, did they come from one of your families? If not, did your family have traditions that you just aren't carrying on (yet)?

DH's family had/has the tradition of all being together on Advent Sundays with Christmas music playing, nuts, Clementines, and Christmas cookies on the table (sometimes mulled wine, as well), and playing games or talking. We want to continue it but haven't always been very good about it.

Re: Good morning!

  • Good morning. 4am here. I woke up with DH's alarm and can't get back to sleep, grrr. Today it will be just me and minibini. It'll be nice to have him to myself again since I've been working all week. Lots of chores and school work to do though. I am incredibly stressed out already and just found out I'm being evaluated next week. Ugh!!!!

    QOTD: nope.

  • Have a fun time!

We're taking care of our to-do lists. DH got our infant seat put back together (had to be cleaned), got the stroller cleaned up, and rearranged our car seats in our cars for maximum comfort in our main car now that two seats will be in there. I'm wrapping presents in spurts and then get to package them for mailing. In between we're playing with BabyD, I'm ordeing baby items online, and some chill time.

Debating what to do about tonight. I really want to go out to this Italian restaurant that a few friends recommend, but DH has a different idea. There's a Doughtry concert for the troops on at 2000, then he has fantasy basketball draft at 2100, and the Army/Navy game (GO NAVY!) starts at 2200. Tempted to call a girlfriend and see if she'll go with me to dinner while DH has some man-cave time.

QOTD: No, we don't have any traditions for Advent but I want to make some. DH has never done an Advent calendar, if that gives you an idea of some of our cultural differences. He's such a kid at heart that I don't think it will be a problem introducing some things and making our own traditions.

  • Morning. DH is getting ready for work, and DS is eating his snack in his high chair, so it's time for me to chill out a little. Last night (despite my back pain), I went grocery shopping, cleaned everything except the bathroom and made dinner for DS and I.

I'm doing some baking today. Rosemary bread, chocolate dipped peppermint marshmallows, frosted sugar cookies and a batch of peanut butter fudge.

QOTD: We don't have any traditions, but DH loves opening the super cheap advent calendars, and gets excited if he's missed a day. It's a tradition we may have to start when DS is a little older - he doesn't get the whole Christmas thing yet.

  • Bananas: I find it funny how you say that you are doing "some" baking when you are making about five different things. Your family is so lucky.

I am doing some German homework and then I have to run errands this afternoon but it is cold and raining outside.

QOTD: We have a calendar but we didnt fill it because we are going away.

  • If I was doing more than "some" baking (like I do on Christmas morning), we'd have 5 different types of cookies, cinnamon rolls, caramels, fresh bread, plus brownies and a cake. I'm a bit obsessed when it comes to baking...
