Baking today? (With Recipes!)
Inspired by Bananas0827's comment on the good morning thread, I've decided it's a great day to bake something (That, or I'm finding creative and calorie filled ways to procrastinate from the project I have due tomorrow).
I'm going to make onion beer bread. DH will probably hate it but oh well - at least our house will smell wonderful for a bit! I was just happy to find a recipe from home that has easy-to-find-in-Spain ingredients!
Recipe here: http://www.farmgirlfare.com/2007/08/back-into-beer-bread.html
Anyone else have something tasty on the docket for today?
Re: Baking today? (With Recipes!)
I love beer bread! I use a version from Cooking Light and it's always a hit. Good warm with butter, good with soup, good toasted, good to use for ham sandwiches - it's just plain good.
No baking for me. DH wants banana bread with chocolate chips (ew from me on the choc/fruit combo!). I'll have the housemaid make it since the smell will make me gag right now.
If I don't have to pick up BabyD then I might bake something tomorrow. Nothing wrong with making a pumpkin pie for just me since DH won't eat it. In my last Cooking Light there was a version that used freshly grated ginger in the mix and was topped with toasted coconut. Sounded delicious and it's been getting good reviews on the website.
ETA: Now with links!
I don't know if I'll make them today, but I love these!

Only problem is DH and I always eat them all ourselves when I make them so we never have any left to share or give to anyone
I'd love the chocolate dipped peppermint marshmallows recipe!
FayeD, thank you for the beer bread recipe. I love it but, as predicted, DH doesn't. "Too much onion." Lame.
The lentils are good and mushy. Oh well!
