NCR: We finally closed!
We put in our offer and it was accepted on September 30th, and thanks to the darn FHA loan, our crappy real estate agent, the crappy banker that is handling the loan, and DH's lazy boss, it has taken until now to close (our original closing date was 11-23). But it's done!
We've had access to the place (thanks to the AWESOME sellers) for two weeks now and we've been painting, drywalling, sanding, painting, painting, painting, installing new receptacles and light switches and light fixtures and bathroom fixtures...the list goes on. It's been insane. But we're almost done and moving in next weekend.
Hoping to be more active on here once we get moved in and I have my own sewing roooooom!

Oh my goodness! Yes, our saving grace was our fantastic sellers. They are definitely getting a gift basket. I know she really, really didn't want to move because, while the house was not our style (um, it is now after all the work we've put into it) she had finally gotten it exactly how she liked it, and the outdoor space can't be beat. Her new house needs a lot of work and it's in a whole new town and all that. She almost cried when I told her I was planning to use the entire garden space she had dug up, plus how excited I was over the cherry and apple trees, raspberry bushes, grapes, and so on. I will have to send her some jelly next summer too. :P

Congrats on closing. I have heard horror stories about FHA loans and how long they can take (apparently, they have a LOT of "t"s to cross and "i"s to dot). Glad the house is finally yours!
