It's a freezing but sunny day in Boston and I'm kind of wishing I was in the Bay Area right now.
Despite not having any plans this weekend, we ended up pretty busy. Friday night we went back to this all-you-can-eat sushi place we discovered just the Saturday before and spent three hours there with another couple. I foresee becoming a regular at this joint, which probably isn't great for my wallet even though it's "cheap" for sushi ($21 for tons of made-to-order sushi options including nigiri and sashimi, plus entrees like noodles and (not very good) bulgogi, sides like seaweed salad and spicy tofu, and desserts like red bean and green tea ice creams!).
Saturday I pretty much shopped online all day long. Then we had dinner with another couple at their place, ordering in some Blue Ribbon BBQ.
Yesterday DH and I ran all over doing more shopping/errands. I'm proud to report that I'm now 90% done with Christmas shopping!
Re: Good morning, NorCal! How was your weekend?
Thanks...Me too! One of the major downsides of my disease/medicines is that I'm immuno-supressed, so not only is it easy for me to get sick but I stay sick longer. My immune system is a big dummy and instead of attacking my cold it attacks my liver. Lucky me.
I've read a few of your blog posts. Here's hoping the cold goes as quickly as possible for you and that you make progress on all the other health stuff, too.
Oh tory-I am sorry to hear about this. I hope you feel better soon.
another busy weekend. Saturday was a jewelry show and yesterday was an ornament exchange.
I also finished up my baking and started wrapping up gifts. I have to send out packages this week to get them in time for Christmas.
I thought having a house meant spending more time in it during this time of year but I feel like I am busier now more than ever!
Did you sell any jewelry or were you just shopping?
Shopping-for Christmas gifts and myself of course. :-)
Thanks RnV and A! Much appreciated!
How did your move go? How do you like Nor Cal so far?
So far the move has gone great! I like it here very much.
I'm pleased to say it went much better than I thought it would.
Thursday I picked the ILs up at the airport for the weekend.
Friday after work, I drove up to Foster City, picked DH up and went to SF. His work rented out Ruby Skye for the night and it was a great party. It was really well planned, a great space (plenty of seating, facilitated a lot of mingling, great viewing of the floor from the balcony) good food, and nice decor. Made me sad that DH is moving jobs and we won't have another of these parties to go to.
Saturday we slept in (we had a hotel room and the ILs were babysitting) then we had lunch at fisherman's wharf before we headed home. Missed a 1st birthday party because we spent too long in SF but we got our tree and got it put up. That night we went to a friend's party after Q was in bed and that was really nice too.
Sunday we all went to mass and then while Q napped, Ray and I put the lights on the tree (while ILs sat and watched and talked about how they have a pre-lit fake tree so they don't have to do that...um, thanks) and then we put the train around the bottom (Q is ENTHRALLED!!!) Then, we all went over to Santa Cruz for an early dinner and then we dropped ILs at the airport and went home.
So, we did a TON but I'm really pleased that ILs (for the most part) followed my instructions and Q was well rested and happy in their care.

Yay!
And sounds like a super fun weekend overall.
Thanks guys...and Kouii too!!
Hope you're feeling better Tory!
My weekend was AWESOME. On Friday I went to Vegas with a friend to see my favorite band in the whole wide world (Eve 6). The show was amazing, and I got to meet the band and spend time talking with them. It was just so so cool and I was giddy like a schoolgirl.
Saturday night after getting back to SJ I went to my best friend's holiday party which was fun. Sunday I went to a birthday brunch for my cousin and saw a bunch of family I hadn't seen in a long time. Great weekend!
