Anyone purchased an upholstered headboard?

I'm just starting to think about the search for DD's big girl bed. (We won't move her for quite some time still but I think it's going to take some time to find what I want, gather it all, and actually get it in her room.)

I'm wondering where you found your headboard and if there were options available (trim, monogramming, etc.)? TIA.

Re: Anyone purchased an upholstered headboard?

  • i looked at buying one for one of our guest rooms before i settled on a bed from cb. i was thinking i would make it - it really isn't difficult and there's a million how to's on the intertnet. but i knew i'd never get around to it.....so i shopped around. i was going to get either the one from ballard (more options - i was going to do the apple green velvet tufted one) or the one from west elm (cheaper when on sale)
  • I am going to make one when we move to Houston (we have been living with family for the last few months as DH job hunted). When I find the tutorial, I'll post it if you would like. It looks super easy!
  • We've ordered from Ballard Designs for work.  I think that they offer monogramming on some items, not sure about the headboards.

Also have ordered from Swiftex, and I think that they are open to the public now.  They'd probably do the upholstery with trim, etc. if you provide the monogrammed fabric and the trim you'd want to use.
