I will make a CR AW post in a few mins to make up for being off topic.. ![]()
I had my haircut last week on Tuesday & I really don't like it. It is close to what I wanted, but not quite right. I've been going to the same guy forEVer so I know he can do what I want, but I've never gone back to have him fix a haircut. Do I just call and try to get a new appt and then discuss it when I see him? I don't really want to pay full price again, b/c he's not cheap (salon owner) but at the same time I don't expect him to do it for free. I could always go to great clips to see if they can do something. I have another apt with my usual guy in 3 weeks (right before I go OOT) WWYD?
I wanted something like:

and got something more like this
My hair LOOKS fine, but it's just not what I want & it is SO THICK that it is a serious pain in the @ss. When I've had cut it like the first pic I don't have to use the hairdryer every day & it will air dry fine. When my hair is like it is now, it either needs to be blown out & ironed or put up somehow.
Re: NCR- ever had your haircut redone?
I've had mine re-cut before. My salon is pretty good and will re-do it for free, I just had to make another appointment, and I tipped her again for her time. I have really fine hair and its hard for me to tell what its going to do once I've left the salon and had to style it myself the next day.
ETA: Also, if you're a long time customer, he's going to want you to be happy, so I'm sure that he'll be happy to fix it for you. I used to work as a receptionist at a salon in college and this kind of thing happened from time to time and the stylists were always gracious about fixing cuts, and prefer to know if they haven't met your expectations. They want client loyalty and the ones I worked with got hurt feelings if you went elsewhere to get it "fixed", which is totally understandable.

I did have him take more length off before I left b/c I could see it was too long, but the way he dried/styled it I thought it looked ok when I left. It was after doing it myself that I realized it wasn't as low maintenance as last time & it is still a little too long.
idk if it matters, but the 'salon' is basically the owner & his son with a receptionist and a few independently rented/operated chairs. It's not a huge fancy salon or anything.
I go to a lady who is in the same situation (she isn't the owner though). I would call him and tell him that after you washed and styled it, that you're not sure that the cut is right still and ask if you can come in to have it fixed. If he charges you a second time, I would find a new stylist, even if he has been yours for a long time. Good stylists will want to make the first cut right. (I've gone back once for the cut and once for the color and she didn't charge me again either time. I didn't tip her a second time, since I didn't have cash, but I always tipped big the next cut/color to make up for it.)
