addressing cards question
What is the proper way to address a holiday card to a family where the husband and wife have different last names? Normally I would address the card to the "xxxx family", but I wasn't sure how that worked with two last names.
Re: addressing cards question
We're one of those couples - our cards just come addressed to "Andy Axxxx and Sara Bxxxxx." Or vice versa, not everyone follows the alphabetical name rule. Most people put the name of the person they know best first (cards from my family and friends have my name listed first, those from Andy's family and friends list his name first).
My FIL addresses our cards to Andy and Sara Axxxx, because he refuses to accept that I didn't change my name.

I will do as suggested above unless there is a full family, in which case I will write:
The Anderson Johnson Family
Just curious...what's a full family?
We usually get cards to DH xxxxx and Jenny XXXX, although there are a few that just use DH's last name. This year someone put "Jenny and DH (whatever your last names are)" which made me laugh.
Tired after a long morning of hiking and swimming.
For families where the parents have different last names and there are kids, I address cards to "John Doe and Jane Smith & Family".

Thanks--that's what I'll do!
