support group - miscarriage

this thursday is the monthly "A Mother's Tears" support group held at 733 19th street. Here is the FB link (http://www.facebook.com/events/322744247755583/) but in case the link won't work...(I will not be there this month):

Thursday, December 15th, 11a-12:30p

Willowsong Midwifery Center, 733 19th Street

    • Tiffany Tice, our Birth Circle leader and Cosette Boone, will be hosting a support group every month on the third Thursday from 11:00am-12:30pm. This group will alternate its topic every other month. In December, we will be holding space for women to process miscarriage. In January, we will be holding space for women to tell their stories of difficult or traumatic birth. We invite women to share in a sacred space, to further their own healing and to begin to weave a tapestry of connection with other women who have very similar experiences. This group is open to the greater community. Women may join us for as long as they need to come full circle in their own healing journey.
"Whether or not to allow babies in-arms, or small children to groups is a difficult decision to make. I am so sensitive to this and know I certainly struggled with it when mine were little ones. As a team, we have always debated this with each new group created. We keep coming back to the importance of women needing space to process without interruption or the distraction that a small baby or child might cause. Given the intimate and vulnerable nature of these topics, I encourage women to reach out to their community, their village, of safe friends and family, to secure childcare for the short time the meeting is held.Respectfully, Cosette."
