Vibes please!!! (for FIL)
While we were out to dinner with his office, FH received a phone call that his dad was taken to the hospital. My ILs flew to Milan today for the holidays, everything went fine and during dinner he was losing consciousness so they took him to the hospital.
We don't know anything yet, might fly out there if needed, but please, please send vibes!!!

Re: Vibes please!!! (for FIL)
Thanks!
I just typed that up on my phone while on the tram home. In the mean time MIL called again. They did an EKG and some other tests. They couldn't see anything out of the ordinary on the EKG (or is it ECG) but they're still waiting for more results. The doctors apparently mentioned that it might be a symptom of Parkinson's, but he was tested for that about a year ago and they were certain he didn't have that.
I just want to go there and yell at the doctors. They haven't done a CT or something yet, and I'm so scared that if it isn't his heart, it's his brain and I really want them to take a look at that.
Anyways, thanks for the vibes!

2012 Reading Challenge
Not that we know of. But he's in Milan and we're in NL so we only know what MIL tells us, who's nervous and doesn't know what's going on with her husband - so she's not the best source of info.
Unless there's a clear result this evening/night, FH will tell his mom to push for that CT.
This is what makes me hate having an international family.
What makes everything even harder is that last december, when they were in Milan, GMIL was hospitalized. She ended up dying in the beginning of February, so this trip was hard enough as it is for MIL. The first Christmas without her mom (she took care of her mom for 11 years, while GMIL had alzheimer's, they were together every single day). I talked to MIL on the phone yesterday and she told me that she was anxious and found it really difficult to go back to Milan and spend the first Christmas without her mother. And now this.
Also, last year, we received the phone call about GMIL when FH's boss was over for dinner. Now this call came while we were having dinner with his office. Dinner with his company seems to be cursed.
Anyways, thanks for all the support! (I'll probably be checking in here and typing all night, or until we have results and I feel okay going to bed.)

They're still waiting for some results, but they don't know results of what. It's half past midnight here and in Milan, so I wonder if they'll get results tonight. FH did tell her to call us either when they're going home, or when they have a result, no matter what time it is.
We'll keep on waiting...

A little update.
MIL called around 2.30 last night to tell us she was going home. The hospital was keeping FIL for observation/testing overnight and today the neurologist is coming by to do some more testing (so maybe a CT as well, who knows).
Apparently this had been the plan all along, and she/we weren't going to get any results last night anyway. Either they didn't tell her, or didn't explain it very well, as she stayed there waiting for results all that time.
We haven't heard from her yet this morning, so FH just went to the office (I have a home-day today) and promised to call me immediately whenever there's news.
Nasty little detail. Some of you might recall the fact that my SIL is a ginormous biatch from earlier this year? Well, she never answered her phone when her mom called last night, so FH texted her, a couple of times with updates actually. It's now almost 12 hours since her mom first tried calling her and she STILL hasn't gotten in touch with anyone. -- I get that she's busy, her FIL actually died last week, after having been sick for years and in a coma the last weeks, so I get that she's busy dealing with that, but WTF, if your own dad suddenly gets hospitalized you call to see what's up, right?!
