Doulas?

I am pretty sure that to become a doula you have to attend a certain number of births, right?  I was thinking that I might allow mine to be observed if there were any doulas-in-training here.  I know medication-free births might be especially interesting, as mine will most likely be.

Anyone here a doula-in-training needing to observe a birth?

My doula was a doula in training and she did much more than just observe. She was awesome. I can get her info for you if you're interested.

My cousin is in training.  She offered to be my doula, but I declined only because I wasn't 100% commited to a natural birth and I felt like I might disappoint her if I got the drugs.  Turns out some support would have been great because my DH just clammed up and my midwife pretty much got me through med free.  She is in Nebraska City, but was willing to travel for mine.  She has had four kids herself.

Ask Summer, I know she was close to getting her doula license when I was pg with Mason so maybe she has it now.
