Blacktop Stain

My son came home the other day with a huge blacktop stain on his khaki uniform pants.  Any idea what I can use to get it out?  I tried Shout and Oxy Clean gel stick.  I've faded it from black to dark brown.  At this point I'm pretty much willing to try anything because right now the pants are a total loss so I don't have anything to lose.

Re: Blacktop Stain

  • This is what has worked for me...

If it's chunky enough, try to pry as much off as you can...after that, try WD40 or GooGone to get the black mark out (it might take some patience).  After that, treat it as you would a greasy stain (for me, that means some blue dawn dishsoap).  Don't put them in the dryer until the greasy mark is completely removed (so you might have to line dry to see if it's completely gone).
