A question for moms (answered Marias ?)
About a week ago brin started nodding his head like he is saying yes quite a bit. I didn't really think much of it but then my mother freaked me out. If you could please watch this video and let me know what you think...

Re: A question for moms (answered Marias ?)
I think he has figured out that "if I move my head like this, the world looks weird"
If you were asking him a question and he was responding that way, then I would think he was responding with a head nod.
I had a mom tell me that their daughter would hold her hand in front of her face and wave it back and forth really fast-and she would always do it. They took her to the doctor to see if something was wrong...doctor laughed and said "She just likes the way it looks"
This.
I also agree with everyone that he probably thinks it is something funny. Julia loves to be upside down.
I understand where you are coming from being concerned, though. Being a crazy first time mom, I would probably still mention it to the doctor.
What did your mom say that is freaking you out?
I agree that he probably just thinks it is cool. My kid does this with her hand all the time -- I'm thinking for the same reason.
Jenny McCarthy = Former Playmate and MTV host
Pediatrician = Doctor with extensive experience and education on children.
Bumpies = Don't get me started!
I know who I get my health advice from!
What are you looking at?
William born 7/12/2000
Andrew born 10/30/2011 (9lb 4oz at 37 weeks)
I would think that he was just gaining some head control and enjoying it.
Maria - the video took a minute to load so I switched back to respond. All of a sudden I hear baby babbling! Look at the monitor and D is fast asleep... took a second to remember that I opened another tab.
When he was doing it (not in video) she said "alycia what is wrong with him?" ugh!
My instinct and background told me it was normal but I needed to hear it from someone else. She is a bit of a worrywort anyway but she means well. I will mention it at his 6 month appt anyway.
Ohhhh...I completely misread it. I thought you thought he was responding and thinking he was actually nodding yes.
Duh Cristin.
KR has started to do this, he's doing this weird head bob thing when he gets really excited about playing catch.
I wouldn't worry about it, but yeah, unless it's SUPER excessive then I would take him in. Otherwise I would just wait til my next appointment.
