Embroidery Machine trouble...

Hi!  I have a Brother PE700 II Embroidery machine and I'm trying to embroider a few last minute Christmas gifts...  Yesterday, all of a sudden, the thread started to bunch up under the needle plate (which I've learned is called bird nesting)?  I had to cut the cloth off my machine and unscrew the needle plate to get the ball of thread out.  I called Brother for help and they said they'd email directions on how to clean the bobbin area but they emailed me the wrong thing, and they are now closed for the night. The machine is less than a year old - so I hope its nothing major wrong with it.

Has anyone had trouble with "bird nesting" and can you help?

Thanks. I checked out that site earlier and cleaned my bobbin case... Unfortunately the problem still occurs.

First...change your needle and then make sure and double sure that the thread is going through the tension discs correctly (REthread).

Thanks MommaK. I'll try that out in the morning. My embroidery machine is in the room next to the nursery so I can't use it when she's snoozing. Hopefully it's the needle. I've tried rethreading, new bobbin, new thread, new fabric and different backing/stabilizer.

Ah, bobbin!  Also make sure that your bobbin is inserted so that it unwinds counterclockwise.
