Do you have a link to the version of the crack dip you made for the cookie party? I know there a lot of different variations on the recipe, but I really liked yours.
Re: ** vtkendra **
Yes, it was good.... it had a lot of chicken, and wasn't too gooey/greasy....
Did you use regular chicken breast? Or, canned?
I'm so glad you liked it. I have the recipe in a Word document at home but I think I can do it from memory.
Ingredients
2 cups of cooked shredded chicken (I boiled a chicken and picked it rather than using canned. I just like the texture more with non-canned chicken but you can use canned if you are in a rush.)
1/2 cup of ranch or blue cheese dressing (I use ranch)
2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese (some people also add in blue cheese)
Franks red hot sauce - 4-8oz.
Cream cheese 12-16oz
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350
Mix all ingredients but save a half cup of cheddar cheese or so to sprinkle on the top
Bake for 30 minutes.
Serve with crackers, veggies (some like celery), or tortilla chips (I like the Tortilla Scoops so you can scoop up the dip)
Notes
When I made it for the party, I doubled the recipe and I mixed all of the cheese in the recipe since I was planning to transfer it to a crockpot. I used about 4.5 cups of chicken, 2 cups of sharp cheddar, 2 cups of regular cheddar, 32oz of neufchatel cheese (4, 8oz blocks ), a 12oz bottle of Giant brand hot sauce, and one cup of ranch. I made everything the night before and then before the party, I put it in the oven for 30 minutes. I also filled my crockpot with water and put it on high for 30 min so that it would be nice and hot. After it was done cooking in the oven, I transferred it to the crockpot and then brought it to the party.
Okay, now you are making me hungry. I may just have to make this again soon.
Thank you! I think regular chicken tastes better so I bought a large chicken and boiled it in a pot with a few chicken bullion cubes. Then I took off all of the skin and shredded the rest of the chicken for the dip.
