I will be around for Christmas, New Years I am headed to Northern Indiana for a lake weekend (yes it will be frozen and cold but that is the best part!)

I work on Christmas Eve so I will then come home to cook ham, mashed potatoes, stuffed mushrooms and salad. We are having my parents over for dinner and to open gifts.

Christmas morning we will be going to my Nana's for egg brunch, then to my MIL's for dinner.

In many wyas, I'm dreading going home for the holidays.  There's been a bunch of shiit go down in my extended families this past year, and I'm not going to fake nicey nicey and pretend that a lot of feelings weren't hurt in this whole mess. 

Anyway.

We're driving back to STL next Friday.  We do Christmas Eve with my mom's family, go to midnight mass.

Christmas morning, we do presents with H's immediate family.  Then head over to my mom and dad's for brunch and presents.  Then off to H's grandpa's for dinner.

Day after we're having dinner with my dad's mom, some of his extended family coming over. 

The rest of the week I'll be catching up with friends (hopefully hanging out with Mary!), emotionally detoxing from what surely will be family drama, doing a SP for a big group of friends.  Haven't decided when we're coming back yet - before or after NYE.

We are planning on going to NJ for about a week. I swore I wouldn't this year cause it will probably be more of a hassle with Audrey, but I think it will be depressing for us to be here alone for Christmas!

We leave next Friday and we're going to Cleveland from the 23-24 and then St. Louis mid-day on the 24th-Jan 1. 

Plans for Cleveland include horrifying our nephew with our presence and gifting loud, moving, light up toys.

Plans for St. Louis include unraveling whatever mess my mom has created in our family. Christmas day, then hopefully seeing Neuner and K's friend from HS, plus meeting the 3 babies who have emerged since my last trip.

We're doing gifts with my sister and nephews tonight, because between the boys' visitation schedule with their dad and their travel plans to see BIL's family, there was no other day we could do it.

MIL and SIL are coming on the 23rd to spend the day with us.

The 25th is just for us.

NYE we will go see Guy's family.

Christmas Eve I will go to my friend's to give her kuds gifts. When Dh gets out of work, we will go to SIL's house. Christmas day we will do our presents at home, then go to DH's cousin's house. The day after, we will go see my parents and brother.

We stay here. Our whole families live here. 

Christmas eve we go to Kevin's parents house. It's low key and nice.

Christmas day we get up super early and go to my BIL's house and exchange gifts with Kevin's family. Then in the afternoon we go to my grandmas and exchange with my family. 

On the last day of Chanukah we are going to Kevin's grandmas to exchange gifts and celebrate her birthday as well.

New years we haven't decided. We've been invited to a few things but we may just stay in, just us.

We always stay local around the holidays because this is where everyone is, but we are definitely traveling.  My family from NJ is coming up this weekend, and we're attending my uncle's holiday party Saturday.  Christmas Eve is with Chris' extended family up in northern MA.  Christmas morning we are having our immediate families at our house to celebrate with Samma.  Christmas afternoon Chris will bring Sam to his mother's extended family's brunch, later that afternoon I will bring Sam to my extended family's gathering, and then Christmas night we have our annual secret Santa and Regifting swap with our group of friends, and then the day after Christmas we have a gathering with my dad's side of the family.

I think somehow I signed up to host Christmas at our apartment this year...for our whole family. Not sure how I managed that. Not sure how I'll handle that, either!

We don't travel to far for the Holidays. Christmas Eve we go to Ryan's Aunts house for the evening, head home to spend the night. Christmas morning we spend at our house with just the 2 of us, then head down to the ILs for the day. At night we head home again. So it's a lot of driving back and forth but we can't bring the dogs with us and for Christmas where we board them requires a 2 night stay so it's cheaper just to drive back and forth. But who knows this year b/c it seems my dad might be coming up for a visit so plans may change now

When you have a kid it's easier to get away with it. We always want Ellie to wake up in her own house on Christmas Day. Santa needs to know where she is!

That's how I feel too, which is why I was adamant about getting everyone to out house for Christmas morning.... there was no way I was taking Sam away from her house and/or presents Christmas morning.

Working till 5 Xmas Eve (because lots of people need apartments during this time right?!)

Xmas Day: MIL sleeping over Xmas Eve so we'll all be together at our place Xmas morning.  

We'll also do a Hannakah celebration at my parents' during one of the 8 days.  Potato Latkes and brisket NOM NOM

Going to NYC where my aunt and 2 cousins live.  We're taking the train up on the evening of the 21st and coming back on the morning of the 27th.  Then we'll work the rest of the week.

DH and I both work Christmas Day (for mad fat cash, yo), so we're not going anywhere. We'll do family stuff with the ILs for Christmas Eve.

We have a nice split worked out.  Xmas eve afternoon/evening with IL's, about 45 mins from us.  We'll stay over there that night, have breakfast in the AM with them and open presents, and then head to my parents (2 hrs away) and stay with them for a couple days. Then I'm off between Xmas and New Years!  I'm very excited, but trying to not fill it too much with stuff.  I just want a couple of days to do whatever I feel like doing!
