What crafty gifts are you working on?  Smile

Re: *Reinedumonde (or anyone making gifts)*

  • Oh goodness.  Things I'm still working on:

    • Quilted oven mitts for our moms (I will finish this tonight)
    • Scarf for FIL
    • Knitted throw for Mom (this is NOT happening by Christmas, but at least Mom knows it was a big request)
    • Various baked goods

    Things I've finished:

The links above are to tutorials I used to make the non-knitted gifts (most of those are patterns I bought), with the exception of DH's sweater because I'm just so darn proud of it.

After I finish the last oven mitt tonight and have a bit of a baking frenzy this weekend, I'll be in pretty good shape.  Mom has low expectations and the scarf will make for good plane knitting.

  • Reine - I'm so impressed with your list!

I'm cross-stitching a dachshund for my mom and dad. I had grand plans to make jewelry for people but didn't even get close.

  • I started making some adorable "Converse" style booties for my nephew and finally finished the bed I started for my sister LAST Christmas.  It is now in her apartment and all set up.  Thats all for crafty stuff this year.  Been a busy winter.

Nice!  Are you happy with the bed?  I'd like to make one for us once we move and get settled.  DH thinks I'm crazy but we're just not going to be able to afford what I want for a long time and I'd rather be working on something for a long time and saving some money in the process then just trying to save for a long time.  Smile

  • I'm VERY happy with the bed.  I'm my own worst critic of course so there are things I would change/do better next time but it was really quite approachable and looks like a much more expensive bed than it actually was ($100 in materials + my time versus $1200 to buy a very similar one from Pottery Barn).  It isn't perfect but that is part of its charm I guess!
