The Duggars - probably controversial
They had a funeral for their baby, which I think is fine but they took pictures of the baby.

Thoughts?
Personally, this rubs me the wrong way. Granted, I don't have kids and who knows how I'd react if I was unfortunate enough to have to deal with this but there is something about handing out the pictures that is odd to me.

Re: The Duggars - probably controversial
Why are they all smiling while standing by the casket?
I know there are organizations that will take pictures of babies that have passed or are near death, for the family to have. I think that's a wonderful way for the parents to memorialize their child.
I'm with you on the dissemination of the pictures though. However, every other aspect of their life is put out there, so it doesn't surprise me that this was as well.
I find the whole thing repugnant and aw'ish. IMO this is a private family issue. Not all of this needs to be on broadcast tv.
I'm certainly sorry they experienced this but the way they've handled it is just over the top.
yup. this about sums it up.

maybe thats why it rubs me the wrong way...bc they're begging for attention. one of the family members tweeted it.
i get why some celebs funerals are made public but to me, this is different and sort of inappropriate.
My little nuggets
I normally agree with you but with still births, that's your only choice.
this.
i find the pictures creepy. but i can't fault them for doing it. that's their choice. i can find fault with them broadcasting it on tv. this family just irritates me.

agree.
I have a sneaking suspicion that their pictures were taken to be used for a pro-life agenda. I'm pro-life but I still find it turns my stomach to let a baby be used that way. Also, seriously, can this really be the only miscarriage she's had with 19 children? I would find that amazing statistically.
this.
Slightly off topic but who watches The Big C? Baby Cathy's funeral and the artist rendering of what she would have look like at birth....great episode.
There's an organization called 'Now I lay me down to sleep' that takes photos of babies that have passed away. I believe it consists of volunteer photographers that do it as a way to help parents remember, grieve, and heal. I've seen several sets of pictures and they're not gross, they're beautiful. I can't imagine birthing a child and not having a picture to remember what they look like.
That being said, I don't think this is what the Duggars were doing. I think they go above and beyond fame whoring.
I agree with this 100%. My cousin gave birth to her baby and she only lasted a few hours. There were lots of pictures taken of her with the parents, with her big sister. Heart breaking... I'd for sure get pictures done, but I wouldn't share them with anyone/post on FB/let the world see.
This. Something about putting those pictures out there is just NOT right.
I was actually cringing at the name, but I just realized they are both biblical references?
This. The whole posing for a family pic at the funeral is also odd to me.
