And I really hope that I'm not the only one who thinks so. I don't want to start anything here and know I'm probably one of the most liberal people to post on this board but what I'm about to post makes me angry and I think liberal or not, it might make several people angry.
I have a friend on FB - who, after this, I'm not sure I want to be friends with anymore. She prides herself on being hardcore right-wing and has about 3,000 FB friends who all seem to be the same way. Some of the things they post are shocking to me.
The first post that irritated me was when she went to a sandwich place recently that is known for its pulled pork sandwich and her status update said "In Beach Hut Deli - it smells like bacon. The best part? The muslims stay away from here."
Then, after the whole Lowe's pulling their ads from that Muslim reality show she's at it again making posts about how much she loves Lowes because Muslims shouldn't be in America and so on and so forth. All these people respond with hateful comments towards Muslims.
Now, I know everyone is entitled to their own opinion but her posts ANGER me. And the weird thing about it is IRL she's so not like that. It's almost as if it's an act for all of her FB friends or something. I have a few Muslim friends and they are among some of the nicest people I know. Of course, this might explain why when I asked her why she'd never eaten Indian food she changed the subject. I'm guessing she wouldn't set foot in the restaurant.

Yeah that would make me really angry too. I hate when people generalize about a population because of a handful of people. She is just ignorant.
And I hate people that are fake on facebook trying to impress other people.
Can you hide her status updates so you don't have to see them?

Those things are awful.
But...I do hope that you understand that she's not saying them because she's hardcore right wing. She's saying them because she's a bigot. There's a huge difference.
(I know you know this...your post just kind of came across like you feel that her political beliefs are the cause of this idiocy she's spouting. And most of us conservatives wouldn't agree with your friend.)

Oh no, sorry it came across that way. I have nothing against people's political beliefs! However, in response to her post, many of the comments she received were jars at democrats and liberals, which is why I correlate her particular political beliefs with her opinions. Someone called Russell Simmons a "left-wing, bleeding heart liberal" and she responded with "Amen" and she also said "Yup, screw him in his liberal commie ig'nant ass!" So for her, obviously she judges people based on their political views. That's why I stated she was hardcore right wing as she says it herself and I think gives other Republicans a bad name when obviously she and her friends are a few of the ignorant ones.
If it were me, I might defriend her just for putting an apostrophe in "ignorant."
She seems like a genuine peach.
