I was stupid enough to click on one of those dumb FB links after a friend posted it on her wall, claiming "free Southwest plane tickets" because we'll be going to DC in the spring. I was stupid enough to go far enough the process of trying to get my "free" tickets that I entered my email address somewhere before I realized it was a scam and am now being bombarded with spam mail...as in 60-70 messages a day since I did this.
STUPID STUPID STUPID STUPID STUPID!!!
No. I do not want a Rolex replica watch. No. I do not want to make $5,000,000 working from home in 20 minutes a day. (Ok, so I do, but I don't believe that's really possible.) No. I do not want to meet Asian singles. No. I do not want to meet sexy singles over age 55. No. I do not want a larger penis. No, no, no and NO!! What I want is to go back in time and undo my stupidity and for everyone on FB to not be naive enough to post those stupid things on their walls so that people get suckered in to clicking on them.
Re: Stupid stupid stupid stupid!!
I came *thisclose* to falling for that one too. Sorry! Spam sucks, I get spam in my instant messenger and it drives me batty but I need it for work.
On a completely unrelated note, I think I might have seen you at IKEA last week. I was checking out and dd kept chucking her little toy and you came up to me and pointed out that she had thrown it again. Remember?
By the time I realized you were familiar you were long gone. Small world though!
Yep. First time I've gotten suckered in to one.
OMG yes! I didn't even realize it was you either. I had just returned a bunch of stuff (after N decided he wants his room to be green instead of it's current red after I bought all his Christmas stuff in red) and was so focused on getting back in to replace it and get back out quickly that I didn't even pay attention. I just saw a kid chuck her toy while mom was looking the other way and knew, if it was me, I wouldn't want to just leave it there on the ground. I feel so silly now that I didn't realize it was you!
Don't feel silly, it's been a few years
And what in the world was I ever thinking, bringing her with me on my maiden voyage to Ikea?! She kept chucking that little rabbit, then crying cause she wanted it. Give it back, throw it again
You know the routine! I hope you got N's green room figured out!
I did something similar, only it was my cell phone number. I think I was trying to get to Gap's web site and entered not-quite-the-right URL, and it took me to something offering a free iPad. And the gap logo was on there so it kind of looked legit, until I realized that in order to get the iPad, I had to sign up for some kind of mobile content subscription.
Ding ding ding warning bells, but I'd already put in my mobile number. Luckily, I only got one text message that seemed to be related, but I'm still a bit uneasy that something's going to show up on my bill. :P

Never, ever, ever unsubscribe!! It lets them know that your account is live and that you actually click on the links.
I did this once and DH told me that
I just push it as junk now.
<a href="http://www.thenest.com/?utm_source=ticker&utm_medium=HTML&utm_campaign=tickers" title="Home D
So then how do I make it stop if I don't unsubscribe? I don't even want it in my spam folder. I get legit stuff in that folder and I don't want it buried by 200 spam mails.
Mark it as a phishing scam. that way you don't have to open them and your email domain company should just remove them.
