I started a new job in March of 2011 - leaving my previous position of 15 years.
There was a very clear job description and and my new boss was very clear in the job description. She felt that there needed to be extra clear with the role because I was leaving a job with such history.
The main reasons that I took the job were 1) supporting one group rather than four or five 2) the option to work from home at least once a week.
Three months into the role, they transferred a new VP and her group into our group and I was asked to support their group as well. I agreed and things were rough as I learned two new roles instead of the one. Now, the VP has brought in another group and, while I am doing everything for this new group that I have been for the other two, she will not give me an answer when I ask if I now support group three.
We are coming up on review/raise time and I want to ask for more money. I know that I would not have accepted the position at this salary if I had been told that I would be supporting two or three groups.
I like the job and don't want to jeopardize my career but I really want to ask for more $$$.
I have made a list of what I currently do for all three groups and compared it to the job description and have an outline of everything that has been added to the job but I feel like that might not be enough.
Any suggestions?
