Any motorcycle route recs?
My parents are really into motorcycle riding now, so we're hoping to give them a "trip" for Christmas. We're thinking one night, so we'd like somewhere not too far away where they can leave one morning, have a great ride to get there, check into hotel, have dinner, go to bed, in the morning drive a bit on the way back to the cities. Do you have any specific trip suggestions? Thanks!

My mom and stepdad ride down to Redwing a lot. I've heard the St. James Hotel down there is really nice.

my read shelf:
Anything down Hwy 61 is gorgeous in the summer; Red Wing, Wabasha, Winona. We've stayed in all 3 places and there are nice places to eat.
169 down to St. Peter and then over to New Ulm is pretty. There are winerys and the brewery to tour and places to eat.
Stillwater and Hwy 95 along the river up to Taylors Falls and over to Turtle Lake or one of the small towns over in WI is pretty. Turtle Lake has the small casino and a place to stay. Or there are some small towns near there.
Early fall we took 35 up to Rush City and then went through the Chengwatana Forest to Siren, WI and that was pretty. Siren, Grantburg, Shell Lake, Spooner - all cute little towns.
Hwy 47 through Anoka County up to Lake Mille Lacs are very pretty through the forest area; you can circle the lake and come back down 169 which has some cool places to stop and see.
