Gift Ideas?

I'm coming up short on gift ideas for my Husband. Does anyone have any DIY gift ideas that I can do for him for our first married Christmas? I really appreciate the help!

Re: Gift Ideas?

  • Men arent into those type of gifts really. THe best gift is to dress in a sexy santa outfit or just a red bow!
  • My FI is in the Marines and for Christmas this year I am making him a scrapbook of the Marines. I do not agree with PP because my FI and I do diy gifts for a lot of holidays. Anyways, maybe a scrapbook of the two of you, or of your wedding/honeymoon/ect.

Really? My husband would appreciate it, maybe not all men would. Me dressing up in a sexy outfit would not count as a gift. Just my opinion, no flames please. :o)

  • I was toying with the idea of making a scapbook with "The History of Us" with little things we have done over the past few years that led up to our wedding and this Christmas, kind of like a time line of everything. He still has all of the letters I have written him up to the wedding day and I was thinking I could set them in there as well as "pin points" for the time line scrapbook. I was considering saving it for Valentine's Day or our Anniversary, though.

It's our first married Christmas together, but sadly he's scheduled to work; paramedics never got any holidays off.

I was going to get an "Our First Christmas" ornament but he wants to go pick that out together.

He would also enjoy a sexy outfit, jersangl - Have you seen the outfits Fredrick's has right now?

Yup, same here. I'm sure DH would appreciate the gesture but would still expect an actual gift. Contrary to popular opinion, not all men are sex-crazed fiends who don't appreciate the effort put into diy gifts.

OP, you could try to make a laptop desk, diy wall art, maybe a blanket (you can make the fleece one that are no-sew if you don't know how to sew). Check out Pinterest, there's tons of stuff there.

  • What kind of things is he interested in?

DH likes to cook so one year I made him a custom cookbook, containing recipes only for foods I knew he'd like.

As other posters have suggested, a scrapbook of some sort could be a decent, romantic gift.

  • I will ditto the DIY gift - my DH is very into that & would appreciate something heartfelt.  So far, for both of our anniversaries (married for 2 yrs), we have bought eachother a nice, sentimental card & wrote an intimate note in it - no other gifts were needed.

An idea that my cousin did for her DH that I liked a lot - she wrote out 365 things she liked about her DH and put them in a jar.  So, basically everyday when he wakes up, he gets to pick one and it's like a little "ego booster"...these can range from cutesy, inside jokes too - anything to make them smile :)
