First World Problems

Some colleagues and I were planning to go out for drinks after work tonight, but all but one have bailed. And the one that's left doesn't like the place we were going to, so now she and I are going somewhere else and I don't get to have my prosciutto bruschetta. This is like the 4th time I've gotten my hopes up for it and had them dashed.  Womp-womp.

Also, my husband did not get the job he interviewed for a couple of weeks ago.  They told him when he was there that they got 200 resumes before they closed the posting, and they brought in 4 candidates to interview. Which kind of sucks when you're in the 75% who don't get the job and not the 25% who do.

Anyone else want to share a w(h)ine?  Drinks

  • Boo. I'm sorry that your DH didn't get that job.

    See this?

Well DoggyB did too. And ate every last bit of it yesterday while I was at a party with DS. DH came home and found her at lunch and rushed her to the vet's office. We spent yesterday afternoon inducing vomiting and all of last night watching for seizures.

    Now she's okay.

But I have zero goodies to give to anyone.

  • Oh no! Oh, DoggyB.  I'm glad she's ok, but man. What a bummer.
  • How awful Punky!  I hope she is okay.
  • She's officially in the clear! Yay! Thanks, everyone!
  • 5kC, I'm sorry about your H's interview. That's a bummer.

Punky, I'm so glad DoggyB is ok! But that sucks that you lost all that work.

  • Surprise Oh no, Punky!  I'm glad DoggyBooster is OK but the thought of all that lost work makes me so sad for you!

5KC, I'm so sorry your DH didn't get that job.  I hope something great comes through for both of you soon.

My FWP is that I have a giant present for my sister that's too big/heavy to wrap nicely but I don't want to just give her a big cardboard shipping box either.  Anyone have any ideas?  It's a storage bench and the box is 47x18x19".

I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

  • Rock, can you print off a photo of the bench, slip it in a card, and have the box waiting in the car?

This is what we're thinking.  We did something similar for my mom last year when I gave her a wine club membership.  We might actually have to have my aunt and uncle transport the box for us as they have an SUV and we're not sure it will fit in our sedan!
