Friday Update
We just got home from visiting my dad. He is off the ventilator and awake. He got very emotional when we got there and had a coughing fit and they almost put the tubes back in. He was able to calm down enough that he could regulate his breathing more on his own. He is still on oxygen and they say he isn't out of the wood yet. Hopefully, he keeps moving forward. They are scoping his throat in a little bit to see if they can see anything that could be contributing to this other than the pneumonia. The good news is his problems happen more when he breathes out rather than when he breathes in. Hopefully we have more answers soon and he can be moved out of ICU within a few days.
