Gift for a family--Help!

I need to purchase a gift for my husband's aunt & uncle & kids. We usually do just one family gift, like a board game, because otherwise we end up buying 5 different gifts, and our budget goes from $30 for one gift to like $60-70 for 5 gifts.

This year we contemplated just getting something for the aunt and uncle, because it's not like the kids are the ones giving us a gift (kids are ages 10, 15, 17). But, who knows if that would go over well?

So WWYD? A gift for just the couple, or another family gift? And what would you actually buy? I can't do another board game, because we have given them a board game the last 4 years, and they already have so many that we'd probably end up getting them one they already have.

Help! I'm feeling in a time crunch now! :)

Re: Gift for a family--Help!

  • Can you bake them anything such as cookies or bread and put it on a nice platter? What about a gift certificate to a restaurant (depends on your budget for that though)?

The thing is, they always give US a gift certificate for a restaurant, so is it weird to give them one also?

The baking may be an option, but I feel weird because they always go all out for gifts for us and the family, so I kind of want to be on-par with them, kwim?
