When to apply?

I just graduated with my Bachelors degree in Healthcare Management. My first child is due March 1st. I'm waiting to seek a new job until after maternity leave.  When should I start applying?

My current job really will not work post baby and if at all possible I would really like to find a new job to go straight into after maternity leave.

My current employer knows of the above. I will also be seeking a position within my current place of employment if anything is open at that time.

My DH works evening shifts and commutes so typically does not get home til after 11pm. There is no end in sight with that at this time (Hopefully there will be within the next year).

I currently work til 1am.  I would really like to get a day shift position for the sake of baby and daycare. I know there are day cares open 24 hrs a day, but if at all possible trying to avoid it!

Thanks :)

Re: When to apply?

  • So you're looking to start a job around June 1?

I'd start applying at the beginning of the year, and state in your CL that you're available to start 6/1. It can take some time to find a job these days
