10 words you need to stop misspelling

Re: 10 words you need to stop misspelling

  • effect and affect always get me. Maybe I can remember that trick.
  • I just remember that definitely has "finite" in the middle.

Another one that should be on there... supposed vs suppose.

  • Love it! I just sent to DH who has difficulty with some of those words Stick out tongue
    Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker
  • I used to spell definitely with an a when I wasn't paying attention.  It took a long time for me to break that habit.  One I keep seeing on Facebook lately is "rediculous."  It drives me crazy!

I wish they would make a lesson on when to use "who" and "that."  I've been seeing it all over the place, and it annoys me more than it should.  If you're talking about a person/people, it's "who" (as in someone who reads, people who work, those who know, etc.), never "that."

  • That is super funny.
  • I love it.  Your vs. you're drives me BONKERS.

My cousin texted me, "yay! your pregnant!"  ... I was really tempted to say "my pregnant what?"

    Married in 2008 - DD born in 2010 - EDD 6.15.2012!
  • Those all drive me nuts.

I have a problem with insure v. ensure.

And re spelling, I cannot spell receive for the life of me (no matter how many times I say that little i before e, except after c thing).

  • I use all of those properly without even thinking about it, except for effect and affect. They always get me! I like the idea of substituting another verb! Thanks!
