Anyone do audio books at work?

I thought it would be a good idea and likened it to listening to music, but I don't think it's the same at all.  This is also my first experience with listening to audio books.  Just curious if anyone is really successful at listening to books at work?  Maybe I just need to give it time and I'll get used to it?

Re: Anyone do audio books at work?

  • I listen to podcasts at work sometimes if I am doing things where I don't need to write of formulate my own type of thoughts. If I am writing, I listen to music.

I've found with any audio books I've listened to, I need to be doing something that I can zone out on or that requires very little thinking because it's hard to keep up with the book while trying to add numbers, write an email, etc.

I see audio books more for in the car or while cleaning or something.

This exactly. I love audio books but can only listen to them if I'm doing mindless work. I love them for listening while cleaning or transcribing.

  • I go thru 1 a week but only because.I log insane amounts of butt time in my car driving. I couldn't pay attention to a book and actually produce any work!
Our IF journey: 1 m/c, 1 IVF with only 3 eggs retrieved yielding Dylan and a lost twin, 1 shocker unmedicated BFP resulting in Jace, 3 more unmedicated pregnancies ending in more losses.
Total score: 6 pregnancies, 5 losses, 2 amazing blessings that I'm thankful for every single day.
