Reindeer Food

I saw this on The Dating Divas blog. You mix oats, glitter and sprinkles together to make the food. They have a link to print this cute poem to attach to the baggie. Might be fun to make and do with some of your kiddos. I plan to give a baggie to my nephew.

Re: Reindeer Food

  • I agree, I think these are so cute!  I never heard of this until Pinterest, but I would really like to make some one day when all the kids we know are old enough to get it.  One thing I noted, though, is to make sure you use the food-grade decorating sprinkles so they aren't harmful to birds & other wildlife, and they will naturally disappear in your driveway along with the other ingredients.

  • Love that idea. I read somewhere to mix in colored sugar instead of glitter so that if birds or other animals eat it,, it does not harm wildlife
  • We do oatmeal and glitter for my pre-K kids. We have a different poem, though.
  • Good idea about sprinkles / glitter. I was thinking that you would sweep it up after the kids went to bed so 1. In the morning they saw that the reindeer ate it and 2. the mess was clean.
  • That's cute. We always just left carrots for the reindeer.
