Chocolate peppermint cake question...
I'm making regular chocolate cake and am going to layer cake, buttercream frosting, Andes mint chips, next layer of cake etc. Should I also add a few drops of peppermint extract to the frosting or do you think the Andes mint chips will add enough mint?
Re: Chocolate peppermint cake question...
Wrangling babies since 2010
I've never had the Andes mint chips before. I would test it out. I'd take a bit of the buttercream aside and add a tiny bit of peppermint to it and taste test the two buttercreams with a couple of chips sprinkled on top of each spoonful and see which tasted better.
Ooo, a taste test sounds fun! I'll do that! (BTW, the baking chips are just Andes mints broken into little pieces.)
