More about Christmas Trees
Do you have presents under yours before Christmas?

Re: More about Christmas Trees
We don't. We never did growing up and I love the "Oh my goodness Santa came and there is a present explosion" look on Christmas morning.
DH's parents always had presents under them so it was something he had to compromise on.

We do the same. These are gifts to family members and each other. Santa gifts will come out Christmas morning.
This.
Also, Santa's gifts were never wrapped.
Yes, which is why there are only 2 there now. I don't put any for Addie though, it would be too much for her to look but not touch for a few days.
My mom always put them out as they got wrapped, and I used to love shaking/examining them. There wasn't a whole lot else to do when school was out, and she was at work (when I was old enough to stay home alone)!
We do not put any out under the tree now. William would never let me hear the end of it. He would not leave me alone about opening them from morning till night. So we will have the big explosion effect on Christmas morning, which is pretty fun.
When the kids get older, I bet we will put wrapped gifts under the tree.
As a side note, I was watching my little brother (who was a toddler) for the day when I was in high school. Apparently I was doing a bad job of it because he unwrapped all the presents when I wasn't looking. I called my mom in a panic, and she just said, "Well, get to work re-wrapping all of them." And so I did.
at home, ones under the tree were often for other family members or friends. There were rarely presents under the tree for us.
Yes. We put them under the tree as they're wrapped. Santa gifts will be unwrapped.
Ayers -- So does Santa bring ALL of your gifts? Even those for your parents and friends?
Apparently one Christmas my little sister woke up very early, took all of her presents up to her room and hid in the space between her bed and the wall, not visible from the door, and unwrapped all of her presents. This is so typical of my sister. She was that kid you said "No no, don't touch" to as she reached for the breakable china dish with a devilish smile on her face, and she was so darn cute when she actually picked it up.

We had some presents under the tree growing up, but there was always an explosion Christmas morning, both from Santa and my parents.
Last year I put them under the tree as I bought and wrapped them. This year with a very mobile baby and a very curious nearly 3 year old we will have a full out present explosion on Christmas morning. I imagine next year will be a similar story since I'll have essentially the same style baby in the house again
Yes, we do, as I wrap gifts, I place them under the tree.
We stuff stocking on Christmas eve night
Also, I will do like my mom.
Everyone has a wrapping paper pattern. She does not put names on the gifts.
So on Christmas morning, she will say Andria has snowmen, jayson has the gree wrapping paper, and so forth.
I do this for Audric now too, eventhough, he has no clue.
if i get them wrapped i do, otherwise no.
we don't put out most of dd's gifts until christmas eve though
No, Santa does bring most of the kids' gifts though. We only give them about 1 thing each (would be nothing from Santa for Collin, but big sister would want to know why). The gifts for our parents, etc. I wrap and keep in my closet until Christmas Eve.
Santa presents are wrapped in different wrapping paper that has been hidden.
To me, gifts under the tree before Christmas morning is such a strange concept - DH felt the same way about no gifts. Apparently he is normal! Haha.

I'm going to do this one of these years! Love it.
Thats what my mom did with Santa gifts when we were older.
We always had family gifts under the tree per-Christmas that were usually gifted by Christmas Eve.
I put one "test present" out this year to see if L would take the bait. She did so all presents are in our bedroom.
I was shocked, but Cooper has left ours alone. We told him they were to give to his friends and family (naming names) and he's been fine. Last night he started to open one, but I said it was for Nana and he put it back.
