Midnight Mass

For all you Catholics what church do you go to if you do midnight mass? I went to my church a few years ago and the Archbishop came so it was almost 3 hours long! I'd like to go at midnight though since we have to go out of town Christmas Day.

Re: Midnight Mass

  • We go to St. Pats in Elkhorn, it was about an hour (like a normal mass) last year.  We also went to St. Stans  (41st & J) in the past, its about the same. I love midnight mass, so quiet and peaceful!
  • We used to go to St John Vianny's all the time with my mom and aunt before I was married, had kiddos. I think it was a little over an hour long.  I don't think I've been to midnight mass since then, but try to talk DH into it every year.  :)  St Wenceslaus has one too, just sure how long.
  • Havent been to midnight mass since before we had kids, but we used to go to Cathedral.
Tied the knot: 6.19.04 Mommy to 3 awesome kids: Maren 3/06, Tommy 12/07 amd Kolbe 8/09
  • Most all parishes have a midnight mass, most are a bit longer, but I've never heard of 3 hours...apparently that was due to the Bishop.  I think it's beautiful as well, but for me Easter Vigil is the MOST beautiful late night mass..

My fam loves to go, and then we have a little party afterwards at my brothers house..it's a fun family tradition.
