We're hosting a lot this holiday ... in addition to hosting Christmas with my H's family, we're hosting a NYE party with friends too.
The details: party starts at 8pm, about 20 people, invitation indicated that we will provide finger foods, desserts and beverages (so guests shouldn't be expecting a full dinner)
Appetizer-ish food:
baked crab rangoon
meatballs
baked brie with fruit and crackers
shrimp cocktail
herbed cream cheese & cucumber bites
fresh fruit salad
Desserts:
blueberry and marscapone turnovers
Almond Joy brownie bites
mini pumpkin pies
mini chocolate-raspberry cheesecakes
Drinks:
Beer
Wine
Champagne cocktails
Apple-cranberry hot cider (option to add brandy or rum of anyone wants "spiked" cider)
Sodas
We also have a well-stocked bar and plenty of mixers on hand if anyone wants a mixed drink.
Let me have it ... what do you think?

I just found the recipe yesterday! They look easy and yummy. Here's the recipe.

I like the mix of dishes, but am I the only one looking at all the fruit and thinking it belongs at a summer party? Fruit salad, blueberry turnovers, cheese & fruit, raspberry brownies. Just a lot of fruit. Nothing wrong with it, except it's December.
Maybe trade in some of the summery fruits for more wintery ones like citrus, pomegranates, currants, figs, dates, coconut (which you have).
You also only have one veggie - the lone cucumbers.
I really like the rest of the dishes - they sound great and I think you've got a really good balance.

Thinking of doing cosmetic updates to a dated home? These were our costs.
I was thinking the same thing. Although maybe to balance out the fruit do a veggie platter instead?
