WWYD - gift from a teacher
I dropped off Evan this morning at daycare and one of his former teachers who we say hi to every morning on his way to class gave me a Harry and David gift basket. I felt so bad that I didnt have anything for her. We gave out teacher gifts yesterday, but since he isn't in her class anymore, I didn't get her anything.
Should I get something for her on my way to pick Evan up today?

I don't ever give gifts just for the sake of giving. I would just be thankful that she got you something and write her a nice thank you Christmas Card.
I always feel awkward when I give someone something and then they clearly go out to get me something just because I got something for them. I'm sure she didn't give it with the assumption she needed something in return.
