Hello Nesties!
I just moved to FL from NH and thought getting on here might help me get to know people/the area better. I'm new to message boards in general, so I'll have to figure out the lingo as I go. Bear with me! I'm 24, married for a little over 5 years, no kids yet. Looking forward to chatting
Re: New Here :)
Welcome to the Sunshine state... even though its not that sunny today!
We're in Coral Springs area, have been here just over a year (moved from Clearwater, FL) so we dont really know anyone either. We've been married 1.5 years and no kids.. unless you count our two dogs!
We are in the Ft Lauderdale area. Loving it so far! This was my first green Christmas. My family said it snowed yesterday morning in NH. I don't miss that! But it was pretty hard not seeing my family for the holidays...
Are you guys far from family as well?
My parents are in Orlando and H's parents are in Wisconsin.
We didnt go anywhere, and it was kinda nice, but kinda sad at the same time too.
My dad and one of my sisters are actually coming down Wednesday and staying with us until Saturday, so that will be nice!
What did you guys do for your first green (and 80+ degrees) Christmas?!
Glad I'm not alone... we went to H's cousins house to eat and play games. We had a good time. I'm really thankful they live nearby! We also started going to Calvary Chapel in Ft Lauderdale. So far so good. It's so big that it's hard to really meet anyone on a Sunday. I'm hoping to join a women's group and get us into a couple's group so we can start meeting people!
BTW I'm working on how to use The Nest fully... any tips would be greatly appreciated.
Also, did you gals get any awesome gifts this year?
I've heard Calvary Chapel is big.. so is Church by the Glades.
I've thought about joining a church, we went to one in Clearwater, but H is picky about them. I'm hoping we could make that be a new thing for 2012! Best of luck! We've been here about a year and a half, and still have no friends! I'll be honest though, we havent put forth as much effort as we should have though. Between work, me back in school, and H working from home, its a bit harder than expected!
Hopefully soon though!
I'm just now starting to participate more on here, so cant provide too much advice!
I like the "married life" board and the "money matters" board.
They have a lively bunch of ladies!
Its hard to keep up! I don't know how some of them do it!
I totally understand! We have been married since July 2010 and 2 weeks after we got married we moved over here from Clearwater, FL. So not only do we need married friends, we need friends in general!!
